seems that Eagle F1s are comin down in price

just noticed on MyTyres that 195/45/15 GSD-3s are now only £63.50 each delivered........

Michelin Pilot Exaltos are also down to £70.60

i didnt quote on 195/50/15 mate

which are £48.40 delivered on MyTyres........which although your price is obviously better, if your not near Essex is still a good price

Brun. Give Dave Sheldons of Manchester a bell on 0161 228 2753. They did my 195/50s six months ago for £55/corner fitted.

Trouble is most 15 inch wheel users go for 195/50/15. Paid 50 quid each fitted for two and Mytyres are only a pound or so less and then you have to find somewhere ad pay for fitting.

tyresonline.net are cheaper than mytyres now for supply only, at least they are on the 195/50/15 GSD3. £41.36 although dont know what they charge for postage etc.

Came up as zero when I went through the online ordering thing but did not commit and could not find details of shipping cost anywhere.

no idea about top gear

Yeah all these hidden costs. TBH I cant be bothered trying to get cheap tyres off the net unless dirt cheap. You have to get a local place to fit them and as there is no money in it for them they wont or will charge up top a tenner a wheel.

Found when I got mine they asked how much I had already been quoted and beat that price. So a little creativity/white lie can help save even more.

i just had 2 x 195/50/15 with BF Goodrich Geforce, which are the new ones just out and are very good.

£33 all in each!

Why? I need some new boots after February - 195s or 190s?

There isnt a 190. Either stick to teh standard 185/55/15 which are expensive although someone on ebay is selling 4x Eagle F1 in this size cheap, nearly 60 quid each new.

Next available size is 195/50/15 which has different characteristics, harder rider as lower profile and wider tyre which I believe grips better but is not as progressive on break away.

195/50/15 is only a few mm larger/smaller in circumference so your speedo wont be too far out in its reading of speed. And these tyres have more makes and models of tyre available hence are cheaper.

I would definately get Eage F1 again but also look into Bridgestone RE050, their top tyre which I belkieve is gonna be made in smaller sizes like 195/50/15.
