Electrical Fault. Info Needed ASAP

I'm currently doing the Mongol Rally in a '03 Clio Dynamique 1.2 16V

This fault light comes on

The symptoms are the car loses all power, as if there is no accelerator. However engine off for 10 secs, and the restart the engine and the car will be fine for a while. Then maybe a couple of hours later the light will come on and the same fault will happen.


Help needed ASAP. Even basic guidance. I'm currently stuck in Europe.

I've no mobile phone access. Trouble is few people speak English here and I would like an idea of what roughly is wrong before trying out garages.

Could be any number of things.

Pauper spec low-RON fuel, dodgy sensor, surrenderism, general Frenchness...

Needs a code reader on it really.

We put the fault reader on it at a local services. I found somebody who spoke vague English.

Fault reader showed no fault, however the light was off at the time.

Probably the ecu tamper cover rubbed through on the loom at the back. That or a faulty engine wiring loom (the one across the top of the gearbox.)
