Electrical Problems, Horn, Washer Pump etc.

So, I'm a complete Clio novice and don't have the original owners handbook for the car. Haven't picked up a Haynes manual yet and need to solve a few issues.

Most importantly the horn has packed up! Secondly the windscreen washer pump isn't working and lastly the cigarette lighter socket.

I'm hoping there maybe a blown fuse but don't if any of these items share a common circuit? Also don't know where the fuse box is? Any help would be very much appreciated. Steve

There's a fuse box left hand side of the dash board, you can only get to it if you open passenger door. It'll have the airbag stickers on it. Behind that is your fuse box and the fuse locations for whatever are on a map on the fuse box cover.

Cigarette lighter 'could' be rusty connection at the bottom or the connector not long enough to reach the screw at the bottom and these cigarette lighters seem to be on the long side or some plugs on the short side.

Thanks M.. I'll check the appropriate fuses tomorrow in daylight if it's not p1ssing down with rain like today. I'll try some different cigarette socket plug adapters in case it is a 'plug too short' or 'socket too deep' issue ;) The original cigar lighter is missing and socket does look rusty at the bottom, so it may be a contact fault. Thanks for your advice, Steve

Update: Cigarette socket not working due to rusty connection at the bottom. Tested with multimeter and got 13.87 volts to cigarette socket (with engine running), just won't make a good contact with anything plugged into the socket. The horn problem turned out to be a poor earth chassis contact at the horn itself. Removed the horn and cleaned the little earth bolt with a wire brush. Was hoping the windscreen washer pump issue was just a blown fuse or blocked tubing, but turned out to be the pump itself. Removed wiper arms, scuttle tray and replaced pump after spending half an hour trying to find the little grommet that fell inside the washer bottle when I pulled out the old pump. All sorted, just need to get a new cigarette socket ;)
