engine cutting out and wont start!

Ive got a 1.4 16v mk2 and ive had problems with it not wanting to start and when it does it just wants to stall as soon as i accelerate and sometimes it will cut out while im driving. taking it to the garage a few times but they cant find anything wrong, so has anyone got any ideas what it might be? any help would be great, thanks

They firstly need to service the inlet track and then see what's causing the non-start issue. Crank position sensor is a safe bet.

thanks for the reply. A few people have said it could be the crank sensor so i will get that looked at soon.
