Engine mounts, 2 questions?

Following on from this thread: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=366392, it now looks highly likely that it is an engine mount issue following 2 expert opinions.

Q 1. Where is the 4th engine mount? I know of the one under the battery, Dog-bone and top left.

Q 2. When adjusting the top left mount, I have read that you pull the engine forward? My logic may be failing me but would the engine not need pushing backwards due to the centre of gravity thrusting the engine backwards under load?
 
the 4th is under the gearbox, between the box and subframe chap,held one with one big bolt from underneath

pulling it forwards pulls it away from the subframe as this usually hits

So it knocks on the front of the subframe?

The last time I adjusted it, I tilted it right back as I assumed this is the way that the engine would be thrown under acceleration.

Is this more likely to accentuate knocking/issues?
 
The knocking noise is the manifold hitting the subframe. So you pull the engine forward to increase the manifold to subframe gap.
 
adjusting an engine mount ?? i didnt know you could adjust them ....i have engine mount problems too......when i put my foot down in 1st n 2nd the exhaust is hittin something and if i change gear hard the engine bangs has any of you got a idea what mounts have gone.....

it's the top engine mount that has the most adjustment - the holes in the base plate are slotted, allowing the mount to be moved in and out
 
The whole engine doesn't move back, it twists with the torque going to the wheels. It twists in the opposite direction to the wheels. So the top of the engine moves back and the bottom forward, to different degrees depending on which mounts are weak.
