Engine Oil

I put some 10w 40 Diesel engine oil in my clio 182 before. A mechanic i know said this would be ok. Will it? lol also which is better for the engine, 10w 40 or 5w 40, cheers

I would'nt worry too much regards diesel oil. Since the introduction of diesel particulate filters (dpf's) diesel oils have had to be of a low sap/low ash spec so that these filters don't block. This type of oil is actually of a much higher grade than your regular oils and therefore compatable with all but the very high performance petrol engine. So says our Millers Oils rep anyway!
