engine rebuild needed

i recently bought an 02 plate clio sport but the timing belt has gone just wondering if anyone knows a decent garage around the york area? ive had a quote for £700 plus vat for a new timing belt kit, valves and headgasket fitting does that sound about right?

any help would be appreciated cheers

2.0 sold my 1.6 to my mum

try rs murrey in leeds, but tbh see cost of a second hand engine and have all new belts , dephaser etc

and possibly new clutch.

As for who does it, find one with good feedback , as if the belts aint done right u could have issues same again.

its had a new clutch at the end of lastyear. been looking at engines and the price is around what ive been quoted for the rebuild but then its belts and things that add on to the price

but who qouted you this? see if any one on heres heard of em. as few have had issues with belts been fitted and them slipping

Or just find another engine and get fred to change it. Be around the same price, there maybe engine damage done you dont no about yet. I found this out with mine, although my "issue" was self inflicted! .....wont be doing that again!

its a place called best engines in york couple of mates have been there and had a really good service.
thinking about it i think im gonna just buy a second hand one for a cheaper option wanting the car on the road as soon as i can really
