Engine Rev Limiter?

What is the standard rev limiter set at in a 172 cup? I just took mine a blast and it was revving to 8k. As far as I’m aware it’s had no cams or anything either. Anyone know? I don’t plan on going that high again anytime soon 😅

Pretty sure the lifters throw a wobbly above 7800rpm. Thought stock was 7200rpm but 7k in 4th and 5th

Mine will rev to about the same ~7800 with the RSTuner map.

Definitely stay away from that though.

You're not peddling fast enough if you're not hitting the limiter in 4th.

Definitely has some sort of map that has removed the original rev limit either way 😅

Going to give EFI parts a call and see if I can get some dyno time booked. Has a hell of a kick at 5000rpm!

This is correct.

My van has an RSTuner map on it and revs to 7800rpm, and pulls strong until then with no HPAS/AC etc - flys through the revs!
