Engine Swap on insurance ?

Im planning on upgradin from a 1.2 to a 172 engine,

But how do you tell insurance this?

just did a quote on a 172 taken from someone's number plate on here, inserted all info, and third part fire & theft its £1422.19 ..

is it cheaper by doing a engine swap? & who would be the best to go with.. have tried brentacre & they gave me that amount ^

im going to be doing an engine swap in mine shortly, just told them im going to be upgrading to a 1.6 16v out of a megane, hang on a minute...... yeah that will be ok as of your 19th birthday... happy times

Insurance is cheaper with an engine swap rather than buying a 172..

dunno how you'd go about getting quotes tho etc

i kno a guy who had a focus 1.4, putted a RS engine and insurance didnt change for him :S ..

Greenlight if you are 21+ and have at least 1ncb. They are spot on for me and can't be more helpful and mod friendly

try ringing your current insurer and see what they say ???

i cant comment on insurance companies sorry, as im insured through my work, thats through a broker so god knows who actually insures me

i will be 21 in 2months & 2yr 2Ncb, my post code should be the lowest, since im in the countryside

Just check with your insurer as when i went to change my engine, my insurance company down right said 'sorry we dont insure engine conversions of ANY kind' hence why i now have to go to adrian flux.

I'd be giving greenlight a call then and you can definately expect it to be alot less than that quote you got up there

^ i dont minde changin my insurer tbh, but ye il give them a call tuesday, hopefully theyl let me, as im with Performance direct at the moment
