Engine swapping

Probably been asked before so sorry.....

But can a Mk1 engine fit into a mk2 phase 2 with not too much changing of things. I want more than a 1.2L.... i was thinking of an old 1.8????? Or should i just wait and get a newer 1.8 engine from a mk 2 phase 2 straight swap??

you can make any think fit going custom but you can get a 172 put in from ktec for £2950 and that would be alot cheaper than going custom i would off fort?
