Engine Under Tray question

Just a quick one, last night as i was walking to the car in work, i noticed what looked like a black bag stuck in the under tray! when i got home, i jacked it up, had a look see and it was actualy attached to the under tray :S looked like the plastic bag was covering some foam which is part of the tray but mine has seem to have been ripped!

anyone else seen / heard of this happening? im not sure but i think the foam stuff was coverd in oil?? not good but i checked the engine level and its fine:|

Its sound deadening I think or some some of protector not that it does a lot, mine was coated in oil and gearbox oil from past changes as it just dribbles down and collects on it. Rip it out and bin it off, it just peels away from the under tray

Yeah some of them have a foam padding on them. Also all F4R seems to leak oil from underneath. Probably the main reason why Renault fitted them with an undertray.

not sure how it suddenly got ripped down though... ye i could see some oil from the gear linkage i think it was? i think it was where the gear stick was going into the box.

Yeah all 3 Clios I've owned have leaked gear oil around that area and the 1st one I had was only 3 years old lol. There is a kit you can get from Renault that helps it apparently. All I do is periodically check the gearbox oil but it's never been low on oil.

if i did that, there would prob be a few more oil spots on the drive lol the poor car's on 120,000 miles now :| gotta love the 60 mile round trip to work

ive seen those kits on ebay! im sure im due a new clutch soon so i may get it all done the same time!

I wrung half a litre of oil out of the foam. Glad I sacked it off
