ESP works a treat !!

Ive had my 182 for over 2 years now and therefore have experienced the esp kicking in a good few times when not switched off. But usually im driving like something might happen so im aware and ready to catch it.

But today, doing the usual late xmas shopping. Was going round a corner to join a dual carrageway, on cloud koo koo land, thinking about random stuff and changing to next track on cd and it hit some very slippy patch right in the middle of the corner. Im guessing it was deisel.

Rather then panic, i just tried to steer into the slide and not use pedels as there was no real danger if i had spun (plenty of run off and no cars about)

Car was sliding round more and more and then the rear drivers wheel slammed on the anchors and pulled me round dead straight almost bringing me to a stop.... first time its properly got involved and saved the car with no input from me.

I always knew it worked but ive usually taken control before the esp needs to. But this time was the first that it did it all on its own and really impressed me.... certainly is a clever piece of kit.

It helped me last weekend on a roundabout back end went out good stuff nice to know you have some safe guard just in case with the slippery roads at the moment

its clever stuff indeed, but personally i prefer not to have it... bonus as i bought the 02 model of 172 which didnt have it

had an esp moment the other day too ... saved my bacon coming off a roundabout. would have ended up in the naval base if it hadnt of worked.

Most none RS don't have ESP either.

The only probelsm with ESP are the fact its more wiring and computers to go wrong its great though if you don't wat it switch it off.
