ET35 on a Clio 182 (non cup packed)

  Titanium 182
I've found some wheels but the offset is ET35 and iirc standard the 182 is ET45? I know people put on Cup wheels (ET38) and it doesn't cause any problems until it's lowered, which is when it starts scrubbing. How much is an extra 3mm gonna cause?

My car is currently on standard suspension but I have Eibach Sportlines to go on soon so it still won't be classed as 'low'.

Your 182 has bigger hubs compared to the 172's. (bigger bearing etc.) . That's why the ET was lowered to 45, the hubs are giving the wider track. So your hubs and the ET45 wheels give about the same track as our 172Cup setup. So when you go for the et35 wheels, you go out another 1cm which i think will give rubbing in corners.

I also had some nice magnesium Speedlines that i could buy once, ET30. So that would bring the wheels out 8mm on mine. I did'nt go for them in the end because i get rubbing already now with the normal et38 Turinis.

Cheers for the feedback!

Thanks Ian, what tyres do you have? If I can I'll try and use my 205/45/16's from the 182 alloys as long as that won't fowl the arch lip?

^^ i'm surprised at the reactions . Have you guys modified your bumper-brackets ?

Markhinton ; feel around your wheelarch from left to right and you will find something sticking out prominantly. This is the bracket i'm talking about. When grinding/bending this out of the way you should have no probs i guess

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I've come across some 16" wheels that are cheaply priced, but they're et35. I know my 182 FF has et45 wheels, so that means the wheels will sit 1cm closer to the arch, but I read that some people have trouble with scrubbing, some don't. Could a couple of people clarify whether with standard cup suspension i'd have trouble? I occasionally carry rear passengers too so have to take weight into account!

Anyone? I'm gonna assume I would have trouble when carrying weight?
