Ever run 14 inchers?

On any car?

Got some 14's sitting in the garage and was thinking of sticking some 185/60/14s on them and putting them on my Ignis as track wheels. My theory is that the ride will be better than the 15's as the tyres are higher profile with a larger diameter, and if I was happy with them I'd stick the coilovers on too.

Any thoughts?

I've asked on the Ignis forum but to be honest it's like asking on Craggy Island.

Unless you go super budget tyres, I'd bet they're more expensive than 15s...

Higher profile will be comfier, but won't help cornering.

I read somewhere that some track tyres are cheaper in that size, so I'll have to do some research.
