Evo for 182

  Street Triple R

Right ppl here is my situation

I really want a 182, but have an Evo at the moment which i am trying to sell without much luck (in the For sale section;)) in fact no luck so what do you think would be the best plan

1. Take the Evo to renault and see how much they will give me for it, for a laugh if nothing else!

2. desperately hold on till someone buys my Evo

or

3. trade in my 1997 Saxo VTS (theyl prob give me nothing again tho) and put the rest on finance and pay it off when i eventually sell my Evo

or can anyone think of anything else!

thanks guys

Sorry Jon but I dont think any UK main dealer would touch an imported Mitz with a barge pole. I mean they aint too cool about imported 172s so wont chance does the it have? Even if they did theyd pay well under book I reckon! Worth a visit and maybe a 182 test drive though.

Really want you to get a 182 or a 172/Cup though

Citroen took my E reg 1.3 70,000 Escort as part ex! got £500 on it. Paid for the stereo :)

Any dealer will discuss a trade in, it a question of who will underwrite it ?

Keep trying to sell the EVO.

Jonathan

reno said that my p-reg clio was too old to be taken in as px, the only thing they could do is to take it down the auctions!

Yeah that all they do anyway. Unless its a Renault they could sell

They offered me £400 for my P reg 1.2 !! I told him where to stick it !! You are much better off waiting until you sell the EVO. Dont be so impatient youve spent all of your life without one im sure youll cope a month or two more !! Dont be stupid and rush into silly finance deals !!

It took me ages to sell my TM. And it was brand new. The market for the Evo is a very small one in comparison wint most other performance cars including its rival the Scooby. Ypu ahve to be patient and be willing to take a big hit if necessary.

On thing in your favour is that, compared to the Evo, the running costs of the Clio will be very low. By mothballing the Evo until it is sold, you will be saving a bit there...

Thought you were interested in an Evo III Jon?

Im driving the 182 tomorrow when my car goes in for some work (again!) so Ill let you know what I think of it. Im getting a courtesy Formula 1 car (Dynamique 1.2 16v) so my Cup should feel like a rocket once I get it back.

It wont hurt to pop along and see them in the Mits. Im sure they could farm it out to a Mitsubishi dealer but they might not offer you too much for it being trade money and all.

Strange one? Trading a Evo IV for a clio have you been out in a 182 and been impressed? are they that good they most be fantastic to want to trade a Evo IV!

£400 for a p reg clio 1.2? reno livingston gave £500 for my mums 1 litre j reg micra whos engine was knackered!!

On the evo, Id try and stick with selling it private. Surely an enthusiast will buy it?

Think he just wants something that doesnt need servicing every 500 yards;). I think he should get a MK1 172

mind you 10k (evo) + 3k (VTS) = 13k = black 182 with cup pack :D

hi guys thanks for the replies, the evo is up for 10,695 at the mo

i will probably just have to be more patient and wait till it sells i think :(

yeh i think the clio is a great car, i have been massivly impressed by frostys and adamfs Clio Cups, and for the area i live in (croydon) the evo is just too fast to enjoy it really, as soon as you put your foot down your breaking the law practically, all the roads round here are 30s, there is no point me having it.

I think that hot hatches are the best fun you can have in a car (whilst actually driving it!;)) they are so light and responsive and especially the Clios, even my mums 1.4 is quite nice to drive!

so basically i want someyhing more useable than the Evo and faster than a VTS - hmmmmm, yep a 182 would do nicely:D

Its good to see I am not the only person that has come from a faster car (in my case an RB5 Scoob) to a Clio.

Not for reasons too dissimilar to the ones you mention too. I really could not see the point in having a car that is as heavy on the wallet as my Scoob when in reality there was no way I was able to really stretch its legs regularly enough.

At least the Clio will geive me decent performance when I want it but wont be costing me the earth just to keep running. Good luck with selling the Evo, I took a bit of a hit with the RB but think I managed to get a decent figure for it in the end against the Cup.

Jon,

If its any help, I part exd my 97 P Saxo VTS, 95000 miles, part service history against a 182 and got 1800 quid.

My 182 cost me 12900 including part ex value thats with metallic, both cup options and cd changer.

Ouch! 97 saxo VTS £1800! perhaps i wont trade mine in then! lol thanks for letting me know but it sounds like you got a really good deal on the 182, where was it from???

Evo still not selling - i think the market for these is extremely slow at the moment :(
