exhaust banging on 172

  Burgandy 174 sport t
anyone else get this on there 172/182?? when I pull away hard or when accelerating and go over a bump I get a knocking/vibrating sound.

I have circled a pic of where I think the exhaust is hitting the sub frame, what will solve this?

can u tell by looking at it that it needs replaced? is it just bolt off bolt on? ie no supprting of the engine?

yeah easy peasy to remove, takes about 5min

the rubbers should be attached to the aluminum, if its loose, its dead

well the only problem i see with that is if you stop the bottom of the engine moving, then the top of the engine will move more causing the upper mounts to wear (have you ever seen a 172 bouncing off the limiter on a rolling road??? you'll see what i mean!!)

we run a standard dogbone on YS Ver 1.2

yeah, we've worn away the heat wrap at that exact point on our 182 manifold (caveman yoz destroyed those 2 engine mounts after FCS, they were brand new the week before!!)

Well in the first week i had it the top mount broke taking the subframe mount with it. So they are new and the other mounts were taken off and checked and found to be in good condition. Then i lowered it-40mm on apex springs. The banging started after that. Another mount might have given up in the time being but i don't know.
