exhaust fitting tonight

Get my new exhaust courtesy of matta_88 fitted in about an hour :approve:


cant wait :rasp:

Will post pictures once its done (providing it all goes smoothly)
 
I had a go looking like a prat holding it under the bumper in roughly the right place and looked lovely :p
 
iirc, the ph1 will pop straight on because the centre section is split in two? whereas on a ph2 its in one piece?? don't know, but thats what i found.

lol

all OE Renault systems come in one piece from the factory, due to the way the car's assembled

all replacement systems; Renault or not, come in two pieces, due to the beam being in the way. the split is just forward of the rear beam.
 
Just got back with this still in my boot i was kindly informed that the exhausts needs a whole new centre pipe making for it and some brackets which should have been included with the exhaust :S

Unsure what to do now ...
 
They didn't have them in the garage?... :S

I'm sure any other garage will have some spare centre piping, and a bracket right :S
 
He said it should have come with the exhaust and that if he makes some piping up for me with will need a recess cutting in the rear bumper (At this point im like wtf matta_88 didnt have a recess...)

so im confused much : /

ps. The exhaust guy is my uncle so he isn't trying to make me pay for something i dont need.
 
What should i do :o

Im worried that i have just spent £50 on something thats no good for my car ? : /

Matta is a mate of mine, he is a good lad, dont know what happened there tho. There should be piping from the end of that ... obviously not there... have a word with him lol thats not even worht £50 tbh... £30 probably
 
Well yeah i do tbh, Was quite excited today about getting this on and its a lot of money to an 18 YO :(

Looks like im probably going to have just wasted my money though.
 
thats just a universal backbox they sell in motor discount shops for 50 odd quid new.
the rust mark around the box is where a band used to live to hold it to the exhuast bracket
and it looks too short.
can be made to fit with some old bits of exhaust that most garages have laying around
dont let them tell you it wont fit - take some pictures of my clio with a fiesta turbo exhuast i fitted on it as proof!
