Exhaust from other company whilst under warranty - urgent

Crap, so my car's at the stealers and they can't/won't change the exhaust under warranty (they're quoting £478). If I just go to a normal exhaust place and get it done, will it invalidate any of my other warranty? And does it have to be a genuine Renault exhaust (if such a thing exists?)

Actually just had a thought... I'm now in the the extended warranty period, so do I need to bother with all that genuine Renault pish?

If its your baffles gone in your centre section and not done many miles speak to renault uk if stealer wont do it cos they say its a wearing part . Mine went at bout 11k and they said the same to me until i spoke to renauult uk they then changed it FOC tHis is a common problem on std 172exhausts and they know it is . They wont admit to it thou !!

If the exhaust is fcuked during the extended warranty period, then it's not covered by a warranty of any description so you can go ahead and order non genuine stuff. About 1/5th of the price of renault !!

Davo, cheers for that, it's outside the normal warranty period no so that's a no go.

Dan, I decided to just go collect it, f**k paying £500 for a normal exhaust when I don't need to. I went and got a quote from a local guy who did my Golf and I got a quote for centre and back for £172 (I s**t ye not, well plus 90p!) for a replica jobby. I think I might make a new post in a more relevant section for exhaust ideas/advice.
