exhaust gaskets/clamps etc

  182
Afternoon all

I'm looking to replace all gaskets and claps on my exhaust from top to bottom as I'm sure it's leaking.

I know nothing about the exhaust on the 182. Could some kindly advise me of what exactly I need

Thanks all.

Why not find the leak and just replace that one? It's most likely the cat to manifold join as they always leak on 182s. Get a genuine fitting kit from Renault (the cheap eBay ones are crap) if that's where it's blowing from.

What exhaust is fitted out of interest?

To be honest it looks like the standard oem believe it or not so i believe it is. I guess i could just replace that and see. Have you a part number for it please

I'd check that it is that though first and not a hole worn in the original exhaust as it'll be getting on a bit now! With the engine running, stick an arm underneath where the join is and see if you can feel it blowing at all (don't touch it though!).

@optical thaks but after examination it's not the one i need

@jesus the clamp i need is detailed in the pic attached it's rattling and leaking from there and the pipe going into the cat is lose causing the rattling. Strange that it's only happened as i power flexed my dogbone!
do you know if this clamp can be changed. If so any idea on a part number and on a scale of 1 to 10 how easy is it to change. THanks

The vibrations have probably shaken it out of place! The new clamp might fix it. I can't remember if the new clamp is included in the gasket/fitting kit, I don't think it is actually. Just double check your gasket isn't shot whilst you have the clamp off... good luck removing it though LOL!

EDIT: If you can undo the bolts that would be nothing short of a miracle. But you never know! If not, grind off one of the bolts and then hammer the rest of the clamp off. It should just come away. Can't imagine an exhaust place charging much at all for doing the job if you don't fancy it though :)

Thanks jesus.

I'm not gonna bother with a fitting kit anyway as those clamps seem fine its just the clamp in the picture that's the issue so bough a new one for a fiver and hoping for the best lol

I'm hoping it comes off easily enough you never know! One thing after another recently.

I think I used a junior hacksaw through the bolt and then just hammered the clamp off. Mine wasn't that bad but it was very rusty!
