Exhaust keeps unhooking

  172 MKII FF
Hi,

I purchased a RS 172 02 reg not long back and who ever had it before has had a double ended exhaust put on much like this one...http://www.millteksport.com/media.file.cfm?fileid=415, i don't think it is this one but i just needed to put an example in. Anyway, i noticed yesterday that the right side had dropped a somewhat. It seems the rubber support keeps popping off the end of the top prong support. I pushed it back on so until I got home to have a good look. I don't seem to be able to push the rubber brakcet(?) on fully because the bottom prong is too close to the exhaust box itself. Does anyone know how I can correct this because I don't want my exhaust bouncing around?

Do I need to know the manufacturer of the exhaust or can I obtain any old rubber support piece?

Thanks,

I had a similar issue with my old magnex.

Had to carry a spare rubber at all times.

A good fix that worked for me was too wrap a load of gaffer tape around the "support arm" which prevented the rubber from slipping.

Hi Day, thanks for your reply. Do you know how I obtain a spare rubber part? Are they all generic or specific to the exhaust? Is their no way I can obtain a different rubber piece which will have a bend in the part to compensate for the difference in support lengh?
