Exhaust problems (1.2 16v)

  Chocolate Bar™
ive had a powerflow for a while now and its always tended to slightly knock the downpipe on occassions when pulling off from a standstill. since having a bump the other week (when i was rear ended) the exhaust is banging almost all the time - i assume the impact has pushed it forward and bent a pipe perhaps.

therefore - i can go back to powerflow and have a new centre section made and have the downpipe cut and a new section mandrel bent so that it doesnt bang.

alternatively i can go and get a scorpion boxer cat back, and reinstall the standard renault exhaust hanger - which should stop it banging by having more play.

opinions please :)

i'm gonna go back to powerflow, but honestly he's fixed it so many times, its not worth the petrol anymore, so thinking of other options...

the Mk2s never had a problem with it banging on any part of the car??

U sure they finished the job properly? i assume u have a Cat-Bak system from them.

The only place u MAY get a rattle frompulling away is the rubber hanger on the bak (spider mount)

Other then that it shudnt hit anywhere else.

nah my local place in leek.

problems are all based on the fact my renault bracket broke off the car, so hes had to create a custom bracket to hold the backbox. this doesnt give it enough movement (im guessing lol) and so its banging on the front subframe. engine does move quite a distance under load, but local garage (who are really good) see no reason in changing the mounts.

off to powerflow anyway tomorrow so hope for the best :)
