hello all need some advise,

the 172 had its major service (36k) the other day and at the same time i booked it in for them to have a look at the exhaust because its rattling on idle and on high revs and inbetween gear changes, i had the car back and they said they changed the rear clamp even tho i told them that is was coming from the front.....anyway driving home and the rattle is worse than ever it sounds like its about to fall off, i took it back they checked it again and said it needs a new center section which including labour is £371.56 so i laughed as you do and said im not paying it because the car is only 2.5yrs old and still under warranty, he said that this particular prob isnt covered.

has anybody got some advise on how i can get this for free or at least a huge discount, im mighty p***ed off because i paid £260 for the service, any advise would be great, thanks

yep checked it out, it sounds similar but not the problem, tried searching for the renault uk number but cant find it on here and all the websites ive looked at are for poxy e-mail complaints i need to speak to someone. has anybody got the number to renault uk complaints?????

Id recommend you cut your losses and get a custom-made exhaust mate. The company I used are Longlife....would highly recommend them and it will be the last exhaust youll need to buy too! Additionally they sound amazing mate!

i printed off a few pages from here highlighting the problem dumped them on the desk at the dealer and said ther you go i have found out whats wrong for you

i agree mates got a corsa just paid 500 quid for full stainles steel system with 2 5 inch pipes out of the back, all silencers and everything removed. sounds ace, loudest car iv ever been in and its tuned minty too, guzzles juice tho ye exhaustuk are ace

EVERY 172 has this problem, total disgrace.
