falling in love with driving again

  Monaco 172 + mk1 RSi
ok, so for the past few weeks with the weather and all that i have not had the chance to go for a litle "adventure" lol so today after sitting in all day i decided i either went to halfords for some etching primer and spray and got creative or go for a drive and see where i could get lost lol (obvious choice was go for a drive) so i did, incase anyone knows the area i started a wigan where i live with past haigh hall towards atherton and kept on going till i got to frederiks ice cream parlour (which is awesome btw) then turned left and headed towards bolton through accrington or something until i found a little left turn that looked like a county road with a national speed limit sign at which point i got rather exited, hard on the brakes and a left turn later i realised it was signposted "rivington", along with some steep hills it was a pritty good driveuntil i reached civilisation again at howrich and headed home through westhaughton and hidley, all in all i covered some good roads and all it took was nearly 2 hours and a few good CD's.

just thaught i would share with you my little drive and was wondering if anyone else feels the same when they go for a drive on thier own ?

Back in my spaxo days, i used to go rallying round a single track country lane near me every night was awesome, hairpins and sharp turns, chicanes, its like a rally stage. I used to look forward to going out after work just for that. I'm a bit bored of driving now, i need something faster to make me enjoy it again.

i really enjoy driving nearly every time i go out in my clio :) i used to drive to uni and back (around 25 miles) each day and if i wasnt running late would drive a different way each of the 5 days, just finding random back roads to have fun on along the route - would be great until i come up behind a queue of traffic all going like 30 grr.

no longer have to do that drive anymore so often find myself just going out for a drive for the hell of it on my days off just to see where i end up

also often think just how much i'm paying to insure, tax etc my car just to have it sitting there - may as well get out and enjoy it!

I fell in love with driving properly a few months back when I was in the midlands and found some hilly B roads with sweeping banked s-bends etc.

I was planning my next car to be a remapped derv i.e. fabia vrs.

But then i decided my next car was going to be a car that was great fun in the bends, was looking at fiesta ZS's they had good reviews but then I went to my fist CS meet and then i decided the next car for me was definately a 1*2.

yeah imho, the clio is more fun than the ZS (had a mk5 before the clio) the ZS's do handle well tho
