Nearly Lv10 the second time around now. I did the Head of State quest last night, i never bothered with it the first time as i killed both tribes. LOL

Definitely guide FTW though. I've got so many more items and my character is so much better this time around. Really focused in the areas i want.

Have to agree. TBH without the guide I was kinda going along the right tracks, but I certainly missed a few things out. For a start I killed the Overseer originally (Amata's father).

Anyway, back in the Vault now after receiving her distress signal, so now I have 3 choices to make. Kill/convince the Overseer to step down, siding with Amata. Side with the Overseer, or side with Butch and free everyone. None of the choices really benefit in any way, but if I keep it neutral (convincing overseer to step down and side with Amata) then I can meet up with Butch later on at Rivet City.

Hmm.

tbh i dont know what extra the guide would have given me. i think i have pretty much done most stuff with no help seem si have done almost all the missions possible

it comes up with a little icon saying ''press R2 to use VATS'' so i press it and up it pops. but there seems to be no reason to it. just does it randomply when i am shooting someone?

Do i aim on someone and press R2 then to do it quicker for example? or do i have to aim somehwere specific first?

It tells you where everything is, and how to tackle stuff. Its just a bit more handy when you're on the XBox than having to log in and look stuff up on Wiki. Although I'm sure everything is on there, too.

Thats a bit odd. I dont get any message. I'm presuming this is PS3, and difficulty level?

When I'm wandering about, I'll sometimes tap the shoulder button the 360 controller just incase anything is lurking about off my perception radar. Automatically goes into VATS then, and targets the enemy. I mainly use VATS for combat, as I have some decent perks which allow me to kill easier in that mode than manually aiming and shooting.

don't need to aim anywhere in particualr to activate it, as long as an enemy is somewhere in range just hit the button and it will turn on...I don't think mine has ever "prompted" to use it though I do use it almost all the time incase the Mysterious man decideds to turn up and help me out

i havent used the wiki other than to get that list and to read about the game

as long as you have enough AP (the gauge in the bottom right of the corner)

you'll see as you use it, it runs out but it restores pretty quick tbh. and don't forget you can shoot more than once in one VATS "use" took me a while to find that out lol

i have played it all on the hardest setting only thing that is trouble are bloody death claws but they are easy to take out from a distance with the black hawk

Just raided both the forts. Very worthwhile. Although don't see the greatness in the t51b armour tbh. It only saves 5 weight over the others but doesn't give you a strength bonus.

i think you don't really need the guide if you are playing it for the second time round

i've got to level 20 fairly quickly and just picked the level 20 perk that shows you every location on the map

so now i'm just wondering round trying to get as many gamerscore points as i can get

I wouldn't mind getting the guide, actually. I think its a testiment to how damn good Fallout 3 is as the only other guide I've intentionally bought has been the one for Wasteland. Nearly 20 years ago - lol.

Still glad I didn't pick the 'reveal all' map locations perk. Kind of adds a bit of mystery to the game - even when I'm on level 20. I look at an empty part of the map and head there - not knowing if there is anything there or not!

yea darren wish id of done the same i must admit tho its quite interesting knowing how close you were to finding a place but you just walked right by it lol, found the alien crash site before in the dark tho Fail did the mandantory shoot the alien to see what happens but f**k all happened lol when to a town that was just full of Deathclaws bottle cap mine FTW

I left it where it was, aswell as any other Power Armour and the Tesla Power Armour too...Power Armour is for whimps...combat armour FTW!

Done the so called "training" for the Power Armour. That was propper ghey, infact that was probably the most pointless thing in the game so far...

Finally found Dogmeat last night....we walked out of the scrapyard about 10 feet, along came a Deathclaw and killed him pmsl....oh well, like I said before...Rolling Solo is the way forward :approve:

Found the Power Fist last night though....that's cool, now my one and only Melee Weapon I carry with me...

Nearly finished the game now, only 3 main story line quests to go and the Nuka cola challenge then that's it...woop!

keep them alive and trade with them, selling and buying stuff...your call

I personally left all of them alive but I was going for the good karma route. I'm going to save the game before the last quest....finish it with the good karma I'm at now....then load up the save, kick the s**t outta everything to get some mega bad karma, and do the last quest again to hopefully get a different ending...

when you are buying from someone you can put things in their inventory the same way as you take things from theirs.

if it's that worthless i just chuck it on the floor, i cant remember what button that is, might be delete or right click on the normal inventory.

need to start playing this again its next on the list to get completed and polished off!
