FAO 1.2 16v K-tec exhaust people

........ for anyone who has asked before or needs info..........this is how my exhaust is held up at the back of the car..........

was your back box rubbing against the rear hanger??? is this why you did that?

nah, the std exhaust rubber cannot take it.............its too soft so the exhaust just floats about all over the shop! even K-tec recommended the cable ties...........they do work

i would recomend trying to connect the exhaust lower down aswell just after the cat them the pulling forces wont be as much on the rubber. cos on the origanal exhaust thare is a clamp.

well ive just put those ones on cause the last ones snapped (after a mad sideways drive up in the hills..........think it was a puddle i went through that done it) but the first ties lasted about 1 year! does the job for me.

sy - the k-tec is clamped in the centre section too

mines held on the same way, but with baling twine in place of cable ties!

well i got my exhauts with the koncept kit from k tec and there is no clamp on the pipe . Have i been done!

ive had to change the rubbers to uprated stiffer ones, and ive also used cable ties to hold it still.

its funny cause the clamp for the centre pipe arrived seperate by post! it clamps around the centre pipe and hangs on the mount the std exhaust uses. Funny how it turned up seperate, if it hadnt i would have never known!
