Either the renaultsport or the 1.4 sports. Have you changed the leds on the dials to a different colour? Is there a orange filter that needs to be removed or can you just change the bulbs? Is it bulbs or leds as well? Any pics as well?

Thanks
John

i'd love for mine to be blue to match the best colour my HU does.

Just wondering, do the ph2s have an orange filter or is it clear and the colour is made by the bulbs? Beginning to wondering how I would change the filter tbh!

been looking on coupe club and found a few different guides but it doesnt look like its gonna be easy!

I believe Dink has a guide, there is a orange filter by the trip display, that can be taken out i believe

ok i'll try my best here.

once you have got the dials you will see there are clips holding the front plastic on.

once that is off you will need to remove the needles, i did this by hooking a piece of wire under either side of the center bit and pulling.

then turn them over and remove the 8 torx 10 screws holding it together. once they are out the dials will come apart.

once apart you will be able to see the circuit board like this.

i have circuled the leds that need to be changed.

take you soldering iron and some thing to prise them of a little.

heat up the one side of the soldered part and lift with priseing tool, once it's lifted heat up the other side and it should just fall off the circuit board.

repeat for all led's.

once they are off the area where thay have been removed will look like this.

you now need to put a small amount of solder back on the board like this.

now putting the new leds back on. you do this by placeing the led on top of the solder you have put on the board and heating the solder and apply a little pressure to the led while the solder is hot. !"£ REMBERING TO PUT THE SIDE WITH THE NOTCH MISSING FROM THE CORNER TOWARDS THE K PRINTED ON THE BOARD £"!

there was no filter on the dials on mine or on the trip display

get the leds from here

heres a question for you Dink, LED's only work when put in the right way, so how do you know that you are soldering them in the right way round?

Cool cheers vinny and dink, really fancy doing this asap! Where do the needles get their light from, the same leds that light the board? Just wondering how I could get them red and the dials blue.

Seen how to on coupe-club for a megane coupe but the circuitboard looks different :S

I paid a mate to do it and it looks great. Will post pics up when Lockwood have made my custom dials (don't do a correct 172ph1 dial)

What colours did you go for mate?

Red.

Working on the heater controls now. The fan speed and direction knobs have orange paint behind the dial fascia. That should come off with some solvent and just need repainting thinned out red paint. The tricky bit is the orange plastic plugs that fit inside the dials to show the dials position. :S
