Fell In love with my car again....

What dissapointed you with it btw, Its just that stupid engine thats stopping me, Why dont they do a 100bhp 1.4 or something lol

It's just the generally 'feel' of them, not particularly nice to drive - those engines are a bit harsh and quite noisy (not in a nice way either). I think those doors are a bit of a gimmick too. Worst of all is the terrible fuel ecconomy like you mentioned.

I wouldn't say 'don't buy one' - just make sure you really really really want one! lol

Apart from the TT, Not one of those is better than my current car, In fact, I would rather have my Metro i had previously than any of those hideous choices of vehicle :)

Thanks though, I did look at TT's but insurance is horrendous.

I think you need to decide what you actually want from a car tbh! In this thread you say you want a 1.4 RX8, yet you say if its a Z4 then it has to be the top of the range one...

I'm not a big fan of TT's, but however I do admit they are VERY nice cars. 1000% better than having an RX-8 imo.

You would save the money you'd be spending on insurance by spending less on fuel lol. :)

agree, i dont see whats wrong with the z4 if you just want looks, stick some nice OEM alloys and will look great

and from what i have heard it will be much better on petrol than the rx8

yeah know that wankel stuff...wishing for 1.4 = fail... just keep the clio till you are able to look for a new car without having to worry about running costs

Whats wrong with the civic???

Why would you go for a hot hatch there's millions of on the road over a sexy rx8? Makes no sense!

Rx8 is kitted out with full leather electric heated seats, BOSE sound system, sat nav, digital speedo read out, and loads of other equipment. Yes it uses lots of fuel, so what? If you're only driving around 60 miles a week like me it's perfect.

And slow.

For the same mpg he could be running an E46 M3 and then some

Not slow by any means, just as quick as civic type Rs and clio cups etc with the benefit of being rwd.

The mpg is about the same as an M3 yeah, but everything else will be stupidly more expensive: car, parts, servicing. Daft comment tbh.

TBH mate, I've gone over this with many people, there isnt much in it between an E46 M3 and a RX8, In terms of running costs.

But the RX8 on my budget would be a low miler maybe just in warrenty still, Where as the M3 will be over 100k and 6-7 years old.

Not only the cost of the car is completely different, but all the other running cost factors too.

Servicing on the rex is very cheap, waaaaay less than an m3!
The same goes for parts. Rx8 has jap reliability on its side too.

Infact, the only thing the 2 cars have in common is the fuel consumption

Where have you got cheap servicing from? Its a rotary remember?

M3can be done at specialists for decent prices

If performance isn't your bag surley you can buy a diesel or non M BMW 3 series with a body kit on it (i.e M3 rep).....

May be a bit more upfront, should still be less than an M3 to buy and servicing costs and running costs will be much reduced.

These days its never the problem of buying the car as the bottom of the market has fallen out, but everything else has remained constant or even increased.

Dude, seriously just leave the clio as it is, then save some more to be able to comfortably run an RX8.

Thats retarded. All he'll have then is an RX8 that he's using savings to pay for, making him no better off.

It's only money mate, comes and go's. You could die tommorrow, what f**king use are your savings then? Mod your car, make it look nicer, feel nicer and more importantly, make you happy. Savings Shmavings.

Lol, it's not retarded at all as you put it.

Why on earth would he want to mod the clio ?? He's been there & done that with the gold one and vowed never to do it again. There was a massive thread on it too saying about the regrets.

I just can not understand folk whose outlook on life is "yeah it's only money you can't take it with you" I do agree to an extent though, hence I don't have an exige or TVR T350. However it is nice to have some tucked away for a rainy day:cool:

Personally i'd leave the clio alone, then go & buy a car I fancied:)

With the money you're talking of spending, be far better off getting a ph1 172.

Thought you modded you last clio, lost loads of money and regretted it.

In a nutshell. Pointless. Save up for something faster.

Why does everyone think they are a 2.6? 1.3 twin rotary engine. 2 650cc rotors.

Indeed you are 100% right, its purely because VOSA take two complete sweeps of the engine so if you ring up any insurance company they will quote that it is a 2.6l

  clio 182 +cup packs
its all about the 231 bhp rx8. im a few weeks away from mine. love the doors an will be my 1st rwd...yipppeee...plus its technically a 4 dor which the mrs likes too
