I have bought a new air filter and it doesn't fit inside the original housing for the standard filter on my 1.2 8v is it possible to remove the filter and put the housing back on and put my new filter on the pipe running into the housing

What have you bought? A come filter or a panel filter?
I think the come filters need an adapter plate on the 1.2 engines because the outlet is squared? Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Isn't the inlet pipe going onto the manifold squared though?
