Pink & Blue 182, JDM DC2
Have had a sticky calliper on my Cup for AGES and AGES. Highlighted by the fact my last set of disks died a painful death due to heat spots.
Recently have fitted the y0z2aSpOrT braking kit, brembo disks and Friction Performance 97 pads. All round an un-stoppable and amazing kit.
However, when cold the pads, like all other hard compound motorsport pads, the squeek. So, with a sticky calliper on my Cup, around town - it squeaked liked a biatch. Was driving me mad.
Had replaced the rubber dust guards around the sliding pins. Had cleaned out the calliper, pad carrier, the whole works and assembly, replaced and greased everything apart from the piston and calliper.
So pulled the rubber seal off the piston to one side and set to work today with WD40 and plenty of patience.. the colour of the gunk that came out was disgusting. ONce I was satisfied it was all sorted I went for a blast and ta-da no more squeaky calliper. Hurrah! Well chuffed.
Also, trimmed and butched the remainder of my inner wings and splash guards - so were now long scrubbing at all.
Angle grinders rock.
