Fitting a 197 front bumper to non-sport MK3?

  2007 MK3 Clio
Hey there,
I know the 197 front bumper is 3 inches wider each side than the standard front bumper on a non sport MK3 clio.
I was wondering would anybody know if it's possible to shave the 6 inches off the bumper and still make it fit? Cause I don't want to buy the 197 front wings or flare my arches as it would be a bit too wide *for my liking*.
If anybody could help me out or have any advice it would be appreciated =).

Another vote for getting the wings. 3" is a lot when you have to try and lose that from either side. You'll have to do it gradually or it'll just look weird.

People have blended them slightly on the mk2 for the sport but it's far less than 3"

There's a guide here, the basic principle will be the same - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?328967-Fitting-an-RS-Bumper-to-a-non-Sport

Once the brackets have been altered it's probably only 5mm out, yet it's still loads of work.

Just dont do it looks completely wrong as the car doesnt have the wheel base to suit the bodywork.

If you do get wings remember spacers for the wheels, and skirts :p the spacers are the reason I didn't get 1*2 wings and just fitted the front bumper to standard wings.

Since this hasn't been done before I'd get the bumper and offer it up to the standard wings to get an idea of how much work needs doing. Remember to post pics as Cs may be able to help :)

Looks like it'd need to be cut to bend round the lights and join the corners up... I matched the bonnet, lines on the wings and lights up from two pics.

Not sure how flexible it would be but it doesn't look like an easy fit

3 inches each side !?

So you'll be getting a pair of 75mm spacers so it doesn't look quite so daft (until you look past the A pillar and sigh...) ?

Aye 75mm spacers to pull it off, that's why I wanna see if it's possible to shave it down but not looking likely =/.
It's just that I love the 197 front bumper cause of the grill and fogs being separate and it doesn't have the moulds above the grille like on the standard one.
