Fitting a BMC CDA

  Mk4 .:R32
Can anyone give me a step by step guide to fitting a BMC CDA to a mk2 ph2 172. I pretty lame with mechanical aspects of cars, but I want to learn and do it myself! Is it simple, and will it run better if I buy an cold air feed, as it has only come with the air box itself, black tubing (persumably to attach it to the engine) and the various fittings.

Cheers

No, the black tubing is their attempt at a cold air feed. It isn't great!

Use the current 90 degree pipework bend to attach the CDA to the engine. It won't be a great fit, so most people bought the "Hillpower bend".

A decent bit of cold air feed tubing is available for greenfilters.co/.co.uk (sorry its been a while).

What model of CDA do you have.

You need one of these

However i recommend buying one without the breather hole, as the oil from the breather clogs up the throttle body and causes erratic idle.

Mount the cda bracket to the engine lift out hook NOT the old airbox mount. that way the cda will move with the engine.
