Fitting a SUBWOOFER

  RenaultSport 172
1. You need to run a power cable from your battery to the boot.
2. You need to run a remote from the back or your head unit to the boot along with a set of rca leads. Probably best if you run them the opposite side of the car to the power but it hardly matters.
3. Fit amp to the back of the seat or somewhere appropriate. Connect to power and remote and then connect an earth lead to somewhere decent in the boot floor.
4. Connect the sub to the amp
5. Enjoy.

Any questions?

You have to run the wires so that they are apart from each outher, if you don't you will get interference.

i did a guide somewhere but the admin never bothered to put it in the guides section

Probably best to run the wires in the plastic trim aswell or under the carpet if you want to go to the extreme... Bolt the sub to the floor so its not going anywhere (none of the velcro shite)... To get the power cable to the battery you can push it through the bonnet release cable gromet in the passenger footwell. Might need a bit of drilling depending on the size of the cable.

Any other questions...... PM taylor :rasp:

cool thanks for the help, isnt the earth near the battery of the car or is it in the boot?

can use an earth in the boot, where something bolts to the shell, needs to be a decent bolting point though, not just like a screw

It doesnt matter where u earth it as long as its on a metal surface. if ur gonna do it on the boot floor try sanding a small area down to the silver metal and then screw it in there thatll give a definate connection.

youll need a ring connector for the wire to the battry, if you buy a pre prepared kit it will come with it

yea its a full kit i got the amp sub and wiring kit with it so just need to get the thing fitted but im a f****ing goone when it comes to this stuff.

run the power cable down the drivers side through the grommit on the bulk head and onto the battery,

take the earth from under the carpet somewhere make sure you sand it so you get a good connection, then drill a hole and just use a self tapper to attach you're earth cable.

run the rca and blue remote wire down the passenger side door

then plug all that into you're amp and run speaker cable from the amp to the sub...job done

it's very very easy if you know what you're doing.
