fitting front omp strut brace

I picked up a front omp strut brace yesterday and having gone through the usual searches i see that four holes are to be drilled and i am going to fit bolts and washers and niloc nuts ,my question is how easy is it to get to the underside of the suspension turret to pass bolts through, can i just take off the damper nut and get in that way from the top or do i have to take the shock off altogether to gain access under the turret any advice from someone thats fitted one would be appreciated belly60
