Fitting viper with air con

  Ford F-150 5.4 V8

Finally got home early enuff today to fit my new viper. Thinkin i knew how to fit it cos id seen 1 on a cup. Only thing is part of the A/C or i think thats wot it is stops me feeding the pipe all the way down. I come to a gap but it wont quite fit through. Gonna have a proper look 2moz when i can get under the car.

Just wondered how every1 else had routed it??

cheers in advance of any replies.

Ok, well, BenR, myself, chris172, ktec et. all have fittedthe pipework down the back of the passenger side headlight, you have to remove the old pipework and one piece of plastic gauard to get it down there oh and a bit with a vacuum activated butterfly valve in it.

When you try and route it down the back of the headlight you have to take the height adjuster off first cos you aint got room to work otherwise, but you can put it back on after no probs.

Then take the pipe all the way down to the front lower grill and either attach at the side 90 degrees to forward or mount the end straight through the lower grill like Ive done (or replace the nearside fog light as TimO did on his mk1)

hope this helps - but if it dont just ask more questions ;)

Cheers roamer.

Was hoping not to remove stuff but looks like thats the way forward. Ive got it running down the rear of the passenger headlight but couldnt get it all the way down. Play was abandoned due to poor light!!

Have you cut into your front grill then?? Pics??

Hmmmmm... didnt think there was any aircon stuff over that side?!

Fits easily on the Cup, as youve seen, but would have thought it would be the same on yours...

Jack it up.......

use a trolly tho!!, now thats another topic:mad:

......remove passenger side front wheel

......remove inner wing liner, only a couple of screws

......all now revealed, the butterfly valve and loads of access to route the air feed viper tube

I kept the tube which the butterfly is on cause its got electrics to it and didnt want to screw the ECU. I also removed the bolt holding it and tie wrapped it all out of the way, now theres loads of room to play with. You will see which bit of plastic to remove if you want to get it to the front grill.

Good luck

I think its a/c stuff any way. I can get the pipe down the front but not to it to fasten it to anything cos of somat attached to the small a/c rad. Thats wot it looked like in the dark anyway!
