Fixed but not fixed 172

Well they kept my 172 for 3 1/2 days and have replaced my steering wheel with a new one after the insert on the old one split. They have finally replaced the mid section of the exhaust which has cured the 4k rattle, this is the fourth time it has been in for this. Previously they kept going on about it needing new bolts on the heat shield which suprisingly never fixed the problem. It is now waiting for a new actuator motor for the air conditioning which is currently on order.

When I went to pick up the car, I collected the keys and got into it, as soon as I turned on the ignition the stereo was on and really loud, so I switched it straight off, anyway, today I used the stereo for the first time since the car being in and guess what, I think they have blown some of my speakers, they are all working, but the rear ones are now rattling/distorting at low volumes.

Its f*cking useless, I take it it to get one thing fixed, and through there own disregard for someones car trash my speakers.

The original speakers are kack anyway.. I think ive blown my rears too.. not the point I know but at least its an excuse to upgrade.



If you really arnt happy take it back to renault and tell them whats happend.

_KDF, it really does piss me off, the thing is its getting kind of silly in that im visiting them nearly every week. If they just did their job properly in the first place. Its also kack that Renault fit speakers obviously not up to the job!

Ye I understand mate, best guess is when they had your car for three days they thought they would listen to some of your tunes through your car speakers.

Take it back, tell them what happend and that your not very happy that you bring it in for one thing and end up with something else needing fixed. hopefully they will try to fix the problem and might even offer an apology. If your not happy with their response or they refuse to fix it then an e-mail/letter to Renault UK should do the trick.



RE: the 172 speakers not being up to the job, you will find its the same with most cars.. if you turn up the stereo too much its bye bye speakers.

Car dealers will and always bee the same. I have a whole folder of letters and RAC documents etc... for my last car. Supposedly the safest TUV tested ford focus.

So I move to renault. Although the service has been much better, Ive had a couple of hiccups. A bolt fell out my alternator tension thing, which they cocked the order up and had to go in twice. Now my CD players f**cking about. It took them a day to tell me theyd replace it (still waiting) AND they had to take the car out to test it...I mean, whats going on there?!
