Fred, Danny, Jord, others! Is this right?

Car  172, Tiguan
Guys was hoping to fit cambelt tonight, was waiting on lower idler spacer from someone but gave up waiting so ordered one from Reno. I ordered a ph2 part.

Is this part right?

I believe this is a ph1 spacer right?

Is that all correct? I've only got a ph2 cambelt kit

Ta

Ph1 and Ph2 lower spacer is the same iirc as the front/upper spacer/bearing Int.Dia. is different in the ph1 kit

Everyone keeps telling me it's the ribbed idler spacer thats different. :S

Anyway, everything in the kit I had was a replica of what was already on the engine, so I cracked on regardless. It timed up OK, so hopefully everything is right.

If it's gone together correctly then you're fine. the spacers behind the idlers are different depths. The one on the block is a bit bigger than the one on the head. If thats what you've done, then you're flying

Just checked a ph1 kit i've got in today and it is 100% the ribbed pulley thats different :)

Cheers guy's. As I said it does all seem to have gone together OK and everything lined up. We checked about 3 times!

I've still got no idea what the thing is Reno supplied me with (top pic) I stood there and pointed at the right part on the screen and then that turned up. It didn't slot into anything. Very odd.

that's a phs2 spacer, phs1 lower spacers don't have the tapered male bit

late phs1 172's had phs2 engines ;)

I think mine must be Fred. I'm still confused as to why that spacer didn't fit into the pulley from the cambelt kit, seeing as it was for a ph2, but hey-ho.

Thanks for your help last night, were you still abroad?!

Julpier I hope Fred... Pints of that and ladies in red lit windows makes for a pretty much perfect evening
