this lead me on to the search for a 106 gti or a clio 172

in feb 2010 i purchased a
ph1 172 55k from new all standard apart from a powerfart exhaust, came with some history but no proof of belts.

spent the weekend cleaning at a friends aunties.

most important thing to me was too get the wheels refurbed and fitted with some decent rubber ( yoko parada spec2's)

whilst the wheels were getting refurbed i fitted my coilovers, the car instantly felt alot more stable and on the plus side looked alot better.

I found some ph2 back lights on pistonheads local for £10, had a slight chew on with swapping the wiring around but after a few minutes job was done.

whilst on the way home from work driving casually my alternator sheared off at the top where it joins the bracket. so i bit the bullet got a new alternator and full aux kit and a full timing belt kit, and spent the best part of a weeks evenings in the garage.

Car looks really good. Makes a massive difference lowering it and looks the business. Your on a win win situation. Did you match the inlet ports yourself mate or get them done somewhere. Keep it up

yea, its somewhat feels less peaky, but you still get a 5k just not as much because there is more power lower down, say 2.8k - 4k

  Clio 172 PH1, Mini
got the ballasts from a friend for £10 and the bulbs off ebay for £7. ballasts were suspected to be broke but i knew it was the filament in his h1 bulb that was at fault :)
Fair play mate seeing your hid I'm very tempted to get some as they look standard and not blue which is nice.

  Petrol Blue 182
