Front dics retaining screws

AAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH.... They are an absolute joke!!

They would not budge, even when heat was applied, then when you apply pressure the heads get mangled by the torque bit!?

I had to drill out all 4 of them Which meant I spent 3 hours changing front disc's and pads....

Then turned my brain on and realised "ahh should be ok without them!"

i did the same on my old leon cupra r, drove around for two years without them fitted and it was fine. only issue i had was when i took wheels off in the first few weeks the disc wasn't held on by anything so moved. once wheels on and all torqued up its not an issue though

Mine came out very easily the other day with just a handheld allen key style wrench. I thought I was lucky at the time. I refitted them with a blob of grease in the countersink to aid future removal, although I'm sure it will completely burn away on track.

Probably luck but i've never had a problem getting them out tbh.

Ive had to drill a couple out before, Shouldn't take bloody 3 hours though unless your using one of those wind up drill things lol!

One of mine was a bugger the other day when changing front discs, so before it rung the head I but a torx bit in the next size up, tapped it with a hammer and it turned no problem

When I changed the discs and pads last year they all came out easily..

Personally I blame the PF97 pads, they have baked everything LOL

Changed my discs and pads yesterday, all my retaining screws weren't even tight

All copper greased up now so they shouldn't stick in future either!

evil little things, they always get stuck everytime i change a set of discs so i refuse to use them now! as said when the wheels on there not needed anyway
