Front number plate problems

  306 GTI-6
Fitted my new number plates today, went for adhesive velcro to allow for easier changes.

What I want to know is, has anyone had problems with the front number plate due to the curvature of the front bumper?

Basically because the bumper curves the number plate is wanting to spring back off at the ends. The velcro i got was the strongest stuff halfords sold but the actual adhesive doesnt seem strong enough.

I dont really want to have to use regular adhesive pads.

I have velcro plates, I just robbed a load of it from a friend though, no problem here either. It doesn't budge, I do have a fair amount on there though.

it holds the velcro no problem, but its the actual adhesive on the velcro which doesnt stick. I have taped it down to hold over night and hopefully the adhesive will cure by the morning.

Sounds like some old velcro they found at the back of the shelf, where the adhesive has gone off !!

lol, going off what I expect from Halfords that would be possible! But, this is brand new Velcro(TM) adhesive velcro.

Will see what its like in the morning, and if its still crap, adhesive pads it is for the front.

I use adhesive pads, vertically and have no problems once they are set, but do need holding in place for a couple of minutes to start with.

I wanted to try velcro as i might need to replace them if the police get finicky. When i took the old ones off there were over a dozen old pads underneath which took ages to remove front and rear.

I buy my velcro from either Tesco or Dunelm. That stuff dont come off easy and its been on my car for aaages now. £2 a mtr at dunelm.

Hope that helps lol
