Front Splitter Removed Itself

  Clio 182 Trophy #229
Today at a.... reasonable speed.. my front splitter decided to throw itself away and go under the car. Luckily as far as i can tell it has done no damage to the car but it doesnt look right and i need to replace it.
Should i try and find a standard one second hand or should i buy a carbon one from K-Tec? The car is silver with anthracite alloys, i can't decide if a carbon one would look good. What do you think and does anyone know where there is a splitter going?

SKODA fabia splitter for sure mate. the fact your splitter randomly came off while driving should highlight the reason for spending as little as possible on a part that could come off at any time or get damaged on kerbs etc... plus the skoda oones look sweet.

either go carbon or go cheap/skoda for me

I do really like the idea of carbon, it is just the cost.

You do make a very good point, i was a bit shocked when it fell off, good old French engineering. What do the skoda ones look like fitted?

Nice car, you don't see many in that colour. That does look pretty much the same. How difficult is it to get the Skoda item to fit the Clio's bumper? Do i need to buy fixtures etc?

yeah as above. Use a Stanley knife to trim some off the ends then stick it on with self tappers. Simples :) they're easy to fit, although get a mate to help hold it to make it easier. Will take you 10 mins tops

for sure mate... At the end of the day. if u get bored of it... It
Only cost you 12.50 easy enough to live with if you do wanna change it at some point. Guaranteed when it's on tho you'll keep it.

haha I just phoned Skoda in Watford for one of those splitters and he said 'you don't drive a Renault by any chance do you'? When I said yes he told me that he only sells these to Renault owners lol

Buy some self-tapping screws and screw it in.
It's slightly longer so just cut the sides off iirc!

also buy some small washers to stop the screw head pulling through the splitter itself if you happen to touch a kerb whilst parking

And use different holes on the new splitter - current ones might not have been holding the screws tight enough (just a thought) :)
