As above really. Seriouse question though, why did the rolling roader feel the need to rev the nuts off it after each run?

I thought they revved it after runs like that as to not bugger the engines going from flat out to absolutely nothing? Waiting for the wheels to slow down then let it do it's own thing.

Sounds Epic though!

Just looks wrong having flames popping on a shopping trolley. There was an Ultima yesterday popping 3 foot flames for several seconds, now that looked great:cool:

How do you get backfires like that? Wiki says some bullshit about malfunctions in internal combustion engine :D but there are no problems at all.. Is it because of a decat??

That too.. but it wont just do it like that surely? I would guess its modification to the fuel injector and decat :S

My mates evo spits flames, and that was when he just had it mapped with the standard engine.. its just the unburnt petrol vapour combusting on the hot exhaust.. someone correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure its as simple as that

Hmm fare enough.

But what about some silly flames like really long and the ones that go on for quite awhile? I seen one like this long time ago on a scooby.. Is it possible to attach some sort of a kit that sprays petrol and ignites it?

Got talking to a bloke at a petrol station not long after getting my heap. He said a decat really brings them to life. More pops and bangs, and spitting flames.

The potential insurance issue is the only thing stopping me from doing it IIRC.

  Turbos.
I'm no expert, but i thought especially for turbo cars that running rich (resulting in unburnt fuel) was preferable for safety, keeping the engine ok when at high boost.

Our race car does it when changing gear. I guess that is down to the ignition being briefly cut, so the fuel just gets dumped straight out.

Anyway, gotta love flames!

Flames on NA cars tend to be from running lean.

Flames on Turbo cars are from dumping fuel through on over run with retarded ignition.

I'm looking at getting a white one of these ;)

I would be very proud to own that particular car though! Sounds awesome with De-Cat!
