fuel rail cover studs..

Car  182 Trophy #333
had both of these decide to shear off yesterday!!

1. Is that part really need other than for crash/safety purposes?
2. Has this happened to anybody before? And did they bother fixing it or just run without the cover?
3. Does anyone have any spare they could sort me out cheaply? Its £10 for a pair from Cliospares or £7.20 each from Renault so anything cheaper than that would be awesome!!

It's there to prevent you sitting in a ball of fire if you have an accident.
The price for replacements is hardly excessive.

Sorry if I sounded a bit short!
The point of my post was that it is important to replace the cover and being Renault, bear in mind it is usually worse than £10. A lot worse.

Don't drive it till you can afford it then.

It is actually idiotic IMO to drive the car without one on.

Yea I definitely want to get it back on, im not up for ending my days in a firey red ball of death if i crash! I might just have to stick it out till payday, i'll probably end up getting them Cliospares as £10 posted is alot better than the £15 or so renault want, and the week wait, special order parts my arse!

Just buy them and don't have that Chinese takeaway you were going to get Friday night instead.

Dont eat takeaways :rasp:

I'll get some ordered up if i can find a spare tenner, if not it'll have to wait, just thought someone may have a few lying around in a box in the shed somewhere!

If i don't drive it, i don't get to work, therefore don't get paid....you can see where this is going!

Oh noes

russian roulette.webp

Would you fret about being hit by a falling piano/lightning/a meteor?

Surely a few days won't hurt until you source one :)

Im perfectly happy to drive around without it on there! And as i was saying don't really have a choice, gotta get to work! Just off down the breakers as they say theyve got a 172 a 182 and 2litre laguna in so one of them should have them on!!

RESULT! 2 for £5 with nuts at the local breakers, 10 minutes, 1 sheet of bogroll, 1tube of threadlock and its all sorted!

I just undid it! It has a collar/nut half way down the stud and itd snapped off before that, recessed spanner and i had them off in about 2 minutes!
