my cars in work at the mo for a missfire, it suspected that the bracket behind the main lump that covers the wires to the ECU has cut through the wires and shorted an injector... having been in a few clio engines ive seen this in almost all of them and figured it was normal... so it might be an idea to have a look at urs and get it strapped down.

mine did the same thing but didnt go all the way through just past the plastic coating cought it in time.

It happened to my 1.2 16v. The block wen through the wires. I Had to get a new wireing loom. The block is no longer in my car now, the trouble that thing gave me.

This only effects the 1.2 16v as its got the ECU mounted on the back of the engine with a stupid anti-tamper cover.

No mate, just sayings its 1.2's only 1.4/1.5/1.6 etc ECU is in a different place. As in only 1.2's, not mostly 1.2's.

What cars your g/f got? What engine?
