Gartloch Mental Asylum

Having viewed the other asylum sets posted here I though I'd post this.

I had a look around the grounds of the old Garloch Mental Asylum last month, it was a sinister looking place which I could only just see from the train during my commute to and from work. It was a unplanned visit so I only had a p&s camera with me which struggled a little with the gloomy day.

did you not venture inside? Lennox Castle beside Lennoxtown is a nice old building too and was also used as an Asylum. Celtic's training ground is now next it. Apparently folk found chains and the like in the basement (dungeon!) where they would chain the mentalists up.

I visited the grounds of Bangour Village last weekend but did not have a camera with me. It covers a large area but most of the buildings are alarmed so unable to gain entry. The police now use the area for riot training. The ground of Bangour were used in the film The Jacket.

I went up ther for a fashion shoot, found out the hard way they do training up there, as my model was changing they were all running towards us with all there gear on, quite scary haha. but epic for shoots!
