Gear Lever gaiter.

I have searched the forums but not come up with an answer as yet.
Phase2 !72 gear lever gaiter issues … the gaiter is fine but the flimsy plastic ring has disintegrated completely . i purchased a gaiter/gear knob kit including the ring from a well known on line source. First, I can’t figure out how the knob comes off the shaft so second option was to glue my gaiter to the new ring. that wont work as the ring is just about 4/5mm too small and flops around in the hole.
Can anyone point me to a source for gaiters or rings that will fit?

You have to basically cut the knobs off, it won't just pull off.

The ring is disintegrated, nothing needs to be cut off.
I need a replacement.
The itim purchased from an online supplier is too small and floats around in the centre console.
I am looking for correct part or suggestions for a home fix.

The gear knob will pull off, if you're a strongman competitor. Get a gum shield too.
