Getting the best out of a Cup

I have had my Cup a few weeks now but it just doesnt seem like i get the correct/best performance out of it!

I use to have a Saxo VTR which was is 8 valve and that felt like it was more powerful in the lower revs than my Cup. The Cup just seems flat upto around 3.5 to 4k then as everybody knows it goes wild!

Should a 16v car be driven differently, ligher or more gradual action on the gas maybe?? As in the VTR i just use to plant my foot flat on the floor from start and it just use to pull through the revs nicely and quickly in every gear!

Maybe my engine is just not loose enough yet (1000 miles on the clock now)

If anyone can offer me any advice i would be greatful.

The very nature of the engine does mean you have to rev it for the best performance.

This does mean there is better economy at lower revs though.
