Well after 7 years 9 months from new and 164890-ish miles time came to pass to sell on........
So here are a few snaps of the cars various stages of individualism over time. No sheep content so most may be sickened to their stomachs, oh dear, what a pity, never mind :nono:

By the way it was still on original gearbox and clutch but then 90% of the mileage was motorways

First changes V6/Trophy spoiler, Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 17" (seemed a good idea at the time) and some orange paint and black rear lights.

Engine was then replaced by DTM from a donor car with 68000 miles on clock, engine running a bit rich due to K-Tec locking the ECU so unable to flash back to the standard map. However it worked fine with no issues.

8 months after ordering new car eventually arrives at Dealers just before Christmas

None it's gone on to pastures new and will hopefully see 200000 miles

Fantastic looking car, especially with the gold wheels.
164k is a massive amount of miles in one car.
I reckon that's more than I've done in all my driving since I passed my test 11 years ago!

I admit that the gold wheels are a bit marmite but I think it works on black. The engines are strong so no complaints from me the only part I've had to replace in it's time with me (before the disaster) was the alternator after I had to leave the car in Plymouth Dockyard for 7 months, when I got back it had trouble starting after a jump start it died ten minutes later, the alternator had seized.... bugger.

Tbh, it looks better standard (the last few pics).

There was too much black on it after everything was colour coded, and black wheels just makes it even worse. Shame you're selling as it actually looks really nice now :p

Gold wheels look ace, noticed your centre caps are a completely different shade.
I'm currently having this issue with my wheel refurb.

They wouldn't paint the centre caps when the wheels were done as they claimed they would discolour anyway with being plastic - unfortunately Halfords didn't quite have the same shade of gold.

Very nice mate. I love looking through all the different stages :)

Fancy a set of FK rear lights myself!

I like them but mainly had them for summer use as when they were switched on they tended to stop your cruise control working (speed limiter worked fine) - I can only put it down to them drawing a different current rating playing havoc with the ECU after a while, reset by switching engine off :S

Loved the gold! 7 years with a black car and you got... another black car lol. I get bored looking at the same colour, but whatever works for you :) out of interest, can I ask how much you sold it for with that mileage? Mine's high, just wondering what the going rate is, thanks.

Car was advertised for £1200 and generated some interest as well as the question of why so cheap? The Mileage plus only had a month a bit tax left and about to run out on the MOT.
The new buyer after saying he'd buy it was also offered everything in the above photos plus some unseen parts (apart from the Pro Race Wheels) for a I believe reasonably good price and if he sold most would probably have gotten over half his money back sweetening the price even further which also included 421 Cat Cams obviously not fitted to the replacement engine. I believe he was going to acquire a standard ECU so a standard map could be run with the standard engine instead of the K-tec map.

Although black is a pain in the rear to keep clean it does look the muts nuts IMO. Having seen metallic red Mk 3 clios the plastic bumpers discolour easy from the metal bodywork, not really a fan of silver although it does hide the dirt best, white - everyone is doing it and LY screams race me go on race me and too pricey, £1300 have a word Renault.

She lives on. 7 hour journey home from Newcastle to Folkestone, issues with the bank blocking my payment! And a 59 in a 50 ticket just turned up for me!! Overall what a car, and to think it's got 165,000 miles on the clock, I'm telling you now you would never no!

Its in great shape bar some stone chips to the front. Interior is immaculate and it's Currently wearing silver Turinis and trophy spoiler. I got a Standard ecu fitted but still got engine management flashing at idle only, and 25mpg averaged over the last 2 tanks. Nothing major but looking into it this week.

Couple of pics from 2 weeks ago but it's been washed tonight so I'll grab some fresh ones tomorrow. I'm hoping to keep hold of this one for a long time. Will easily make 200,000 miles.

Clutch and box feel solid!

Oh right never heard of that problem before. You must've got a dodgy set! ;)

I don't do enough long journeys to use cruise control tbh.

A few people in the past have had problems when on the motorway could take an hour to affect cruise control

Cracking write up, can't quite believe you bought another Clio over the Fiesta though.

Loved it on the gold, really worked.

The car is fantastic but I can appreciate why people don't like it. It does take a long time to get used to the gearbox but once you've got the hang of it it's bloody great fun. Plus it has four doors which got the mrs approval for a new car. This is the third black clio in a row I've had from new, sucker for punishment maybe. It may seem strange but I love em. Never really liked the fiesta just a personal thing, bizarre I know but the ex wife also has a fiesta so not going there.
Besides why be common ;-)
