got my first 172

swapped my ibiza cupra for this 172 tonight, with 600quid my way

only thing is the service, abs and traction control lights came on when i spun the wheels with traction control off, when i stopped and started the engine the lights cancelled, is this some kind of common fault?

yeah common fault its the wiring under the passengers seat give it a wiggle and it goes off!

when wheels spin makes a clunking noise too is that normal lol?

A reasonable way to avoid this is to not spin the wheels i'd of thought, unless you enjoy buying new tyres alot.

o/s engine mount. Common fault. When you fit a new one, pack it out with loads of washers. Will stop it completely.

True, but mine was doing it too when I got my 172 (normal driving)

Turned out to be the o/s driveshaft, o/s engine mount and gearbox mount needing replaced

lower that bus
colour code front diamond black
change the alloys

(will look mint - my opinion obviously)

axel tram causes the banging when the wheels spin, it wont do the car any good and will kill cv joints and gearboxes! just a word of warning hehe

I cringe if it ever happens in my car, usually in damp conditions when you go for it from a junction a bit too aggressivly but not enough to spin the wheels up properly.

Only had it happen a few times though, make sure i avoid it.

ahhright cool so its a normal noise then, only happens in 1st when your giving it some 4-5k rev's+ may get it in for a service just to be on the safe side. what does o/c mean?

What!? Lol, thats the airbag light fix. Not heard of the abs etc coming on like that

Also i really wouldn't wheel spin loads and cane it in 1st You'll regret it.

Sort out the missing bumper sticker to, looks odd lol
