Greeting from the holy land... Israel and Merry Xmas / Hanukkah for us all :cheers:First of all… salute to this forum for making a great extensive community for the Clio Sport fans. In my country we're just few, very likely due to the fact that the enormous quantity of 110 Clio Sport cars have been sold since 2001 :S (no one knows how many are still alive!) and by the way, all of them are 172, no 182 and V6 for us ,and it looks like no Mk3
Anyhow, I own a 01' mk1 172 and I need some help from you. As you probably know, Israel is a small country with a quite small car market, because of that we've got only one dealer for every car maker… aka "The Importer". This importer is the one and only representative of the manufacturer, in our story it's the Renault brand importer. This importer holds all the garages and the parts storage and for this reason we, Clio Sport owners don't have too many choices and depend on its vagaries.
For example:
Engines mount ~ ₤125.
Rear back box ~ ₤140.
36k service ~ ₤300-350… and of course 72k service, from what I've heard can reach to ₤700 – 800 !!! Including cam belt change (the set itself ~ ₤300) pulley ~ ₤250 and all around.
For this reasons, a bunch of us have gathered around willing to do something. At this point, I come to you - Clio Sport owners not just from the UK, but also from other countries, I saw there are some mates from Germany and Switzerland, and probably more... we need your help about services costs, parts prices if possible and especially the cam belt stuff. With this info we hope to make some changes of how things are going with this Renault representative.
