Orr im well gutted ive only had my valver a while and shes died on me

Im not too sure whats happened to be honest but i took her up to about 60 on a nat A road road the head unit went off and then i couldnt start my beast. theres a msg saying E4 where the temp normally is and theres like not much power in the lights etc etc ect. Im hopeing the batterys just died and maybe the alternator as the lights used to go brighter when it was revved.

Anybody got anyideas on whats happened to my ickle clio?

Could be Bad Earth?

Check voltage of battery etc.. see if it was being recharged!

I will just bump this for you. No idea what it is myself, but ask renault what e4 is. I suspect its error 4. But what that is I dont know.

the exact thing happened to my 1.4rt!! except the e4 thingy. the headunit went off and i couldnt restart it, it was a slack alternator belt tightened it and its been fine ever since.

I had E appearing on mine before, but car carried on running and it went away as quickly as it appeared and never returned. Always wandered is this display used for error codes or anything else as it seems daft having it only displaying temp, especially when you consider the trip computer setup 19 16v owners get. Is there anything more to this display or not, anybody?
